Faced with the overwhelming problem of eWaist we are beginning to see the impact that this is having on our disposal systems and land fills. Manufactures and business alike are scratching their heads over what to do about this problem and there seems to be no real long term solutions to the millions of pieces of this equipment that have been designated obsolete and headed for the scrap heap! Some of the major manufactures have proposed and are implementing a ‘give back’ program whereupon for an extra $25-40 to the purchase price of a new unit they will take the crap back after a couple of years! Only this is just coming a small subset of the market and with the way the economy is, who is to say that these major manufactures ergo , Dell, Hp, Gateway will even be a round in a few years?
